Introducing Tennis 4 Learning …

Tennis 4 Learning activities use the court, tennis games, tennis history, and tennis skills as opportunities to explore not only tennis, but also a multitude of life-enhancing and academic skills. Problems which seem dry and difficult in the traditional classroom are transformed into visual, physical, fun activities on the court or at alternative tennis venues like parking lots and gymnasiums.

Welcome Adaptive Startups! The Toolkit proivded here should include just about everything you need to get your program started. We’ve anticipated that most, if not all, of your coaches are volunteers and not pros. Therefore, in addition to a series of lesson plans, we’ve included basic coaching information and coaching tips.

This website is not for students, athletes, and players! Rather, tennis4learning.com is a “train-the-trainers” tool for teachers and coaches. The activities provided here are just a starting point — they barely scratch the surface of what you can teach in a “tennis context”. For some activities, lesson plans, videos, and “activity cards” describe court setups, provide lists of accessories needed, and offer step-by-step instructions. You may want to start with these activities, but very quickly, we’re sure you will be freelancing your own! And when you do, please register with us so you can contribute your activities and ideas to others!
